Waiting and ready, CAPE LI in Midlands looking good max at about 1300 j/kg -5:). Air is moist, hot temps, according to FAX an area of low pressure forming and trough will also provide uplift hopefully.PPN seems to be everywhere today on charts, wind charts show low pressure up by you Gill.

A heavy downpour this morning , it has moved to the east now but seems to be sitting on the coast , had a distant rumble not to long ago. Don't expect much more from this , but things should really kick off soon.

15-06-09 STORM REPORTS
First thunder of the day, storm the other side of Belfast lough,
about 5 miles away in a straight line, clouds are the most amazing I have ever seen, any pics i've taken don't do them justice.
EDIT@ 11:04 very short lived storm, about 12 strikes, not even enough for the lightning detector to range it properly

ArrayThank Steve for convincing me to buy it[/quote]

lol I don't think much convincing needed, now if you get a Boltek, you get full netweather free ;)

Well that is me hitting the road and like yesterday, I am heading on to the M74 at Lesmahgow and going to the Blackhill view point which will allow me a good view of any lightning coming in over South Lanarkshire given the good SW'ly wind.

Well off to a great start timed nicely we have CG lightning to the NE and SW and now headed for Motherwell as it has the highest vantage point to see over to Glasgow and Edinburgh.

The shelf cloud north of Lanark was spectacular and we will get good views once we get to Motherwell, cant see anything just now as we are on the M74 just going on to the A743 the rain band is awesome.

15-06-09 STORM REPORTS
JUST HAD ONE OF THE BIGGEST STORMS IN BUCKINGHAM I HAVE EVER SEEN!!! Literally, 10 strikes/minute CONTINUOUSLY for about 1/2 hour!! The thunder was amazing! No hail, but HUGE drops of rain in a very heavy downpour! Methinks it was a supercell, as the rotation we had was EXCEPTIONAL; We had about three funnel clouds start to form, but I only caught the last one on camera! (I'll upload in a while!) I was mowing the lawn when I just heard this huge bang and I looked around and probably the blackest cloud I have seen in three years loomed over the top of our house!! Amazing stuff (I will upload photos later). Also it seems to be moving north with crossed ground winds backing WestSouthWest. A HUGE HUGE STORM, just to reitterate! And the actual Cb's edge has only just reached us and the thunder is still continuous and loud as we speak! I'll get some shots of this monster as I can view it fully!!!

re funnel cloud, propable tornado

Im not a skilled storm chaser, im just darn lucky lol, i saw an amazing funnel cloud quite long in length, it came down like a snake, im not 100% sure whether it touched down it i think it may have. I proceded to try to chase it, ended up with torrential rain thunder and lightening, got quite scarey. Im not very good at judging exactly where it was located, to me it seemed very close, so it was between chorley and bolton area, this occcured between 1215 and 1230pm. im back home now, took pics will try to upload from the phone
