Eastern America snow storms
I don't know if you are aware but America's eastern coastal areas has been hit by a severe snow storm which has been aptly named as the Great February Snow Storm.
http://www.scientificamerican.com/articl...orm-hits-u I have been tracking the low pressure system as it makes it's way towards us, the centre of the low had dropped to 940hpa, pressure is now rising as it makes it's way across the Atlantic, from the SPC's it looks like the high pressure is going to keep it from affecting us here in the UK. I heard something on the radio this morning about it, and it was saying we should be geting the same system in about 10 days? is that a possibility cos i could do with getting stuck in the house

RE: Eastern America snow storms
I actually dodged most of the bullets here, my old home in New Jersey got a lot more snow than we got here in P.A, but still we got a considerably amount, the heaviest amount was around 20". Not to mention at times, -15c temperatures - luckily me and the wife brought down material snowsuits for weather such as this.
In some places, the snow was up to my wifes waist. Photo #2 Took quite a while to clear all the snow from our driveway. |

RE: Eastern America snow storms
Hi Lee
The photos certainly show the amount you had, we had abouth the same amount of snow and as for the temps it had been a while since I have had to run the central heating round the clock (there goes my carbon footprint). I have to say your new home looks lovely. Associate fellow: Royal Meteorological Society TORRO SkyWarnUK spotter ID SL002 |
