Question for chasers
Hi all, do any of you use the small StrikeAlert lightning detectors to warn of an incoming storm? If so are they any good or just a gimmick?
They say on the adverts that they can detect a storm 40 miles away but before I get one I'd like an opinion from anyone who has used them. Thanks, Maz. |

RE: Question for chasers
I use the strike alert, it is quite good and will pick up whether a storm is moving away or towards you.
The only gripe I have is occasionally interference with my cars central locking system will make it beep at me and it does occasionally set off the store alarm as I go in to some shops, which amuses the staff know end when they realise what has trigger their alarm and usually ask for a weather forecast.
