Cheers Gill,
I'm sure he will be keeping an eye on things in the States at the moment. There's the potential for a major outbreak later today. |

Storm chasing program A Very British Storm Junkie
well I would not have married her,
or I'd have brought her with me. LOL and this was a weather program , and i spent the whole time thinking about his wifes attitude Even my wife who does not understand my weather obsession, would tell me to go for it, if i enjoy it, same as i do for her. and my wife thought she was out of order there, it gets scary when my wife agrees with me lol enjoyable program, thanks for the pointer Gilll Steve Cloughfern, Newtownabbey Weather Station skype: swsproule |

Storm chasing program A Very British Storm Junkie
Good programme as far as extreme weather but............... is it me, or is that guy Stu the Alan Partridge of the weather world !!!!!!
I too share his passion for extreme weather but i cant help thinking that if i was that obsessed then i would be leading the single life. I kind of feel sorry for his wife as she is second best in that marriage and i could'nt help laughing my a**e off when she would'nt let him stay to chase the second hurricane ( Hanna ). ( So Partridge ). Coley :P Please feel free to check out my gallery or visit my myspace page..... http://myspace.com/norfolkskies |

I thought it was good, but would have liked to seen more footage of chasing tornadoes:rolleyes:but thats just me.
Good advertising for TORRO Arrayi spent the whole time thinking about his wifes attitude[/quote] I felt really sorry for Stu, when wifey wouldn't let him stay on in the USA<_< Got a good laugh at the table names for their wedding  I can certainly draw parallels with with the so called "obsession" in that in order to be a good storm chaser you need to have a really good understanding of how the weather systems work and I did like his set up. After watching it I gave hubby a hug, as he too shares the passion for chasing severe weather, it wasn't always like that, in that when Dave and I first met in 97, he did try to talk me out of it, as he thought I was barking mad risking my life chasing storms. He has a good understanding of the weather as he was a competitive windsurfer. I talked him round and we had a successful chase and having seen how much fun it was, he then understood why people chase and has never looked back. We would love to go chasing together in USA but due to my condition that will have to wait a few years. I now realise how lucky I am  Associate fellow: Royal Meteorological Society TORRO SkyWarnUK spotter ID SL002 |

I watched it as well, I agree with steve though, I think too much time was spent on his wifes attitude.
My wife also watched it, and was a bit surprised by the argument at the end, I think if something is important then a wife/husband/partner should think carefully about saying NO, or worse still saying YES but doing so with a bad attitude Thanks Gill for the nudge on this one, would probably have missed it otherwise |

What I don't understand is that maybe if the cameras weren't rolling and he wasn't doing it for probably lots of money and, dare I say, fame, his wife would be annoyed and would tell him "no" - but Channel 4 were filming him for God's sake - it could have been the difference between a good programme and an excellent one!
I liked the bit when he goes "well how does this sound, I AM going!" and then he's like "sorry, sorry" five seconds later!!! |

RE: Storm chasing program A Very British Storm Junkie
Im a bit late for the party, but managed to watch the programme on the C4 website yesterday. Really enjoyed it, so thanks for the link Gill. Are there anymore like it [other than Stormchasers]?
With regards to his wife, good on her! Rather like this forum, life needs a moderator and Stu has his! |
