13th June Heavy Rain (and possibly onwards!)
I got woke up early by the rain beating on our house, and our powers been off twice.
Looked on environment agency site, quite a few flood warnings and watches.
Looked on my local news and there are reports of the river don in sheffield bursting its banks.
I was at the cinema in sheffield last night and when we came out around 11pm it was thrashing it down, so I'm not surprised!! Were a lot of deep puddles on the road, aswell as water running across it from all directions!!

Anyone got any pics/vids?

Parts of Britain have been lashed by fierce rainstorms with severe flooding reported in some areas.
The North and the West Midlands were particularly badly hit with flooding reported across both regions.
Firefighters in South Yorkshire said they were inundated with calls from flooded householders after more than 24 hours of almost continuous downpours.
Controllers received almost 200 calls between midnight and 8am - almost all from residents worried about flooding.
A spokeswoman said most of the calls were from the Sheffield, Barnsley and Rotherham areas.

I work on the railway in Manchester. Trains were delayed yesterday afternoon and evening due to flooding (at Kenilworth and Tamworth) and also due to high winds blowing trees onto the overhead power lines at Congleton (where a transformer blew) and at Goostrey (near Holmes Chapel). Spoke to one of the drivers who brought a service up from Euston who said that the rain was so heavy that visibility was down to a few yards.

The sun's out at the moment here in Heaton Chapel. What's the odds on surface heating to give storms that extra 'pep' ? Plus the Met Office has given advice of possible severe weather in Cheshire. I'll be at work but I'll be keeping my eyes open.

ah can someone please remove my new topic, didnt see this.

I'm 5 miles out from Brum, and we're getting hammered.
The lightning is really intense, i've counted 5 strikes in the last minute.
As mentioned in my previous post, I may also have spotted a funnel cloud, it's definitely rotating.
Sky is a horrible browny/green colour.
I'm so excited ha ha!
